By popular (heh, as if) request, here is a (still very incomplete) page of hardware hacks you might be interested in.

Almost my oldest hardware project still in existence: a very unusual joystick for the Apple II built around a real control stick from a fighter plane. On top of that, this joystick had no moving parts, except perhaps little droplets of mercury.

An old project of mine that nearly succeeded (there were a few timing bugs I couldn't resolve without a logic analyser or an oscilloscope, and I had neither): an IDE interface for Oric micros.

Here's a haphazard medley of hardware and software instructions on how to connect Sun monitors to PCs.

And here's another: for a long time, a friend and I have longed for Sun Type 5 keyboards on our PCs. At long last, I set out to design something to do the job. Here's the saga of how it was done.
