Anyway, a home page is the Mother of All Ego Trips. Most of the pages I've seen make their owners seem like they invented sliced bread. But I'm different. I have an IQ of 215, I'm a pro wrestler, and I invented sex. Oh, and sliced bread, too.
And now for something completely different: some actual information (or look at my CV). I was born in June 1974, in Athens (the original one, in Greece). In 1993, I came to the Athens of the North (Edinburgh, the original one, in Scotland) to study. July 1997 found me with a BSc (Joint Hons) degree in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science from the respective departments of the University of Edinburgh. Between January 1998 and December 2000, I worked as a Research Associate at the Department of Artificial Intelligence and (since August 1998) at the newly-formed Division of Informatics. In 2000 I was awarded the MSc (by Research) in Artificial Intelligence. Since January 2001, I've been studying towards a PhD under the expert supervision of Dr. Qiang Shen and Dr Miles Osborne and the auspices of the Centre for Intelligent Systems and their Applications (CISA).
I am human by certain definitions of the word, and an XY-type person. In case the previous, dry paragraph didn't make it obvious, I'm an Artificial Intelligence researcher and a computer scientist by training, vocation and profession. I'm also a computer hacker: that is, I enjoy the study and creation of software and hardware and have a knack for spotting novel solutions to problems in these domains. I maintain a web page to share these solutions with others, so that they can benefit from them. These days, some people call us ‘ethical hackers’ or ‘white hat hackers’.
I like variety and do all sorts of different things in My Copious Free Time. This home page reflects this, at the risk of seeming like that Mother of All Ego Trips I mentioned earlier. I apologise in advance if it looks this way. However, I need to archive a lot of things I've done over the past years and this is the best place for me to do so. And the real point of a home page is content, right?
