The BedroomLAN Debian Repository

All of the BedroomLAN's released software that runs on a Unix-like box is primarily released in .deb form, which makes it installable on Debian and Debian-like Linux distributions (Debian, Ubuntu, and friends). If you have one of these operating systems, you may want to add the BedroomLAN Debian Repository to your list of package sources. This way, you can benefit from frequent security updates and minor bug fixes.

If you have one of these operating systems, you may want to add the BedroomLAN Debian Repository to your list of package sources. This way, you can benefit from frequent security updates and minor bug fixes. To do so, you should create a new file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/bedroomlan.list with this content:

# The BedroomLAN Debian Repository

deb http://debian.bedroomlan.org/debian/ unstable main non-free contrib
deb-src http://debian.bedroomlan.org/debian/ unstable non-free contrib

If you don't have a /etc/apt/sources.list.d directory, add the lines above to the end of your /etc/apt/sources.list file.

Then, if you prefer to use the command line to update your computer's list of available packages:

sudo aptitude update

The BedroomLAN Debian Repository has packages mostly for the amd64 and i386 architecture, because these are the ones I mostly use1. Some older packages are also available for 32-bit sparc.

Don't Have Debian?

You can always just browse the repository using your web browser, and download source packages. There are even some RPM packages2.

You may browse the entire file server here, or go directly to the Debian repository directory.

  • 1 Regrettably. I wish I could have more platforms again, and I'm working on it.
  • 2 These were converted from deb packages using alien, and I do not guarantee they're installable.
